Fremont Family YMCA is launching a FREE Youth Referee Training Program covering a number of competitive youth and adult sports in our facility. This program is intended to provide teens who loved youth recreational sports with new opportunities to develop their leadership skills and become a Fremont Family YMCA Referee!
Each Referee Training Bootcamp lasts two evenings broken into two sessions.
- Session 1: Discuss and prepare for refereeing games. Participants will be given scenarios for fouling, managing teams, and on-court coaching reminders for our youngest athletes. This is a great time to ask questions, walk through the process, and gain confidence in their abilities.
- Session 2: Referee an actual youth sports game with FFY staff guiding and providing feedback to participants.
Participants encouraged to attend both sessions. If a participant cannot attend Session 1, contact the email below to schedule a meeting before Session 2.
Upon completion, participants will receive a FFY Referee training certificate & may be offered future paid opportunities to referee upcoming seasons of FFY Youth Sports Leagues.\
Important Note: This program does not include certification to referee outside of the Fremont Family YMCA.
